On December 7, 2016 at 1:10 pm, a male individual called 911 and stated he had been stabbed and that his wallet had been taken in the area of Hobble Creek Canyon, east of the diversionary dam. Springville Police officers and Utah County Deputies responded to the area of 3400 E Hobble Creek Road and found the victim laying face down on the bike path. The male had been stabbed with a screw driver, which was still in his side. The male was transported via ambulance to the hospital for treatment. The area was saturated with Law Enforcement officers in an attempt to locate the alleged suspects. Based on evidence at the scene, witnesses statements, victim statements and history, we strongly believe the wound was self- inflicted, and that there are no outstanding suspects. The male was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and released a few hours later.
