An 18 year old Spanish Fork man is in jail after a body was found hanging from a tree near Maple Lake Campground in Payson Canyon. The victim in this case is a 16 year old girl from Spanish Fork.

On May 6, 2017, shortly after 7:00 AM, Deputies with the Utah County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a report of a body hanging in a tree near Maple Lake Campground in Payson Canyon. Deputies arrived and found a 16 year old Spanish Fork girl who had died and was still hanging from a tree. While still on scene investigators were approached by an 18 year old Spanish Fork man who said he knew this girl and had been with her when she died. Through further investigation Detectives learned that this man, Tyerell Joe Przybycien, age 18 from Spanish Fork, had purchased several items used to facilitate the death of the 16 year old victim. Other evidence at the scene included a cell phone recording made by Przybycien of the 16 year old girl as she died. Based on the actions of the 18 year old male, along with evidence collected, it was determined the he played an active role in the death of the 16 year old female and was subsequently arrested and booked in to the Utah County Jail. Bail has been set at $20,000.00 cash only. This investigation remains active.
