Several canyons and roads have been closed in Utah County have been closed and some residents along US Highway 89 in Spanish Fork Canyon are under mandatory evacuation notice.

*** PRESS RELEASE *** September 13, 2018: As the Pole Creek Fire in Juab County has grown and expanded into Utah County, the Northern Utah Interagency Fire Center has ordered the closure of several canyons and roads, as well as mandatory evacuations. As of 12:30 PM this date the following closures and mandatory evacuations are in force:

Santaquin Canyon and Payson canyon are closed, but evacuations have not yet been ordered.

Nebo Loop Road from SR-132 in Nephi Canyon is closed, but evacuations have not yet been ordered.

US Highway 89, in Spanish Fork Canyon, is closed from mile 312, at the Thistle Junction, to mile 298, at the Utah / Sanpete County line. All homes in this area from Nebo Creek to the Thistle Junction are under mandatory evacuation order.

Residents in Covered Bridge Canyon and in the cities of Woodland Hills and Elk Ridge are under pre-evacuation notice according to Northern Utah Interagency Fire officials.
